Wash your hands before applying.
Break the tamper evident seal on the pump. Turn the pump in a clockwise direction and press the nozzle down several times to pump the cream onto your hand. The first time that you use AproDerm Ointment you may need to press the nozzle up to ten times before the cream comes out – this is normal.
Apply AproDerm Ointment regularly, liberally and frequently (at least 3 times a day) to the affected area using gentle strokes and following the direction of hair growth.
Do not rub as this generates heat which can cause further irritation and itching. Rubbing the cream can also block the hair follicles and cause folliculitis (inflammation of the hair follicles).
Leave a thin layer of cream on the skin to soak in (the skin should glisten) – this can take about 10 minutes.
AproDerm Ointment can be used as a pre-bathing emollient to prevent the skin drying out even further. It should also be applied after bathing to skin that is almost dry to trap in moisture.
Continue applying AproDerm Ointment after your skin has improved to prevent the risk of flare-ups.
