Care Calamine Lotion 200ml

Calamine is a medicine traditionally used to relieve itching and soothe minor skin irritations.

It contains two main ingredients:

• Calamine works by cooling and soothing irritated skin.
• Zinc oxide is an antiseptic which prevents infections.

It works by its counter-irritant effect. After application to the skin the calamine evaporates, which produces a cooling effect that helps distract you from the itch. This sensation also helps relieve sunburn.

Shake the bottle well before each use.

Apply to the skin.

Adults, elderly and children:

Apply with a pad of cotton wool to the affected skin as required.

Do not apply this medicine before having an x­ray as it may affect the results.

Consult your doctor if your symptoms do not improve or if they get worse during treatment with this medicine.

This medicine may not be suitable for everyone and some people must never have it.

If you are taking or using more than one medicine they may interact with each other. This medicine is unlikely to have any important interactions. But speak to your pharmacist or doctor if you get any unusual symptoms while having this medicine with other medicines.

Most medicines can cause some side­effects but not everyone having the same medicine will get the same side ­effects.

The following side­effects have been associated with people having this medicine:

• hypersensitivity
• irritant reactions

If you experience other side effects or have any other worrying symptoms while you are using this medicine, seek medical advice.

This medicine is not known to cause any problems during pregnancy or while breast­feeding. However, as with all medicines, you should seek medical advice from your doctor before applying this medicine if you are pregnant or breast­feeding.
