Covonia Catarrh Relief Formula 150ml

This medicine is a herbal remedy traditionally used for the relief of the symptoms of nose and throat catarrh. Covonia Catarrh Relief Formula is an oral liquid containing extracts of boneset, blue flag, burdock root and hyssop herbs. Boneset and hyssop are specific anti-catarrh herbs.

Before you use this medicine

• Do not use the medicine if you have an allergy to any of the ingredients listed.
• Pregnant or breastfeeding? Ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using this medicine if you are pregnant, might be pregnant or are breastfeeding. Covonia Catarrh Relief Formula should not be used in pregnancy unless the doctor has told you to do so.

Important information about some of the ingredients

• This medicinal product contains 11.5% vol ethanol (alcohol), i.e. up to 453mg per dose, equivalent to 12ml beer, or 5ml wine per 5ml dose. Harmful for those suffering from alcoholism. To be taken into account in children and high-risk groups such as patients with liver disease or epilepsy.
• This product contains methyl parahydroxybenzoate (E218) which may cause allergic reactions (possibly delayed).
• This product contains small amounts of dextrose. If you have been told by your doctor that you have an intolerance to some sugars, contact your doctor before taking this medicinal product.

Take this medicine by mouth. Adults and the elderly, take one 5ml spoonful three times a day.

Children over 12 years, take one 5ml spoonful morning and evening.

Do not give to children under 12 unless your doctor tells you to.

If you accidentally take too much, see a doctor straight away. Take the pack with you to show which medicine you have swallowed.

Possible side effects

There are no known side effects from using this medicine when used as directed. If you notice any side effects, stop use and tell your doctor or pharmacist. They will tell you what to do.

• Keep it out of the reach and sight of children.

• Do not store above 25°C.

• Use within 28 days of opening.

• Do not use after the expiry date shown on the carton. The expiry date refers to the last day of that month.

• Medicine should not be disposed of via wastewater or household waste. Ask your pharmacist how to dispose of any unused medicine. These measures will help to protect the environment.

The active ingredients per 5ml are: liquid extract boneset 0.6ml, liquid extract blue flag 0.05ml, liquid extract burdock root 0.25ml, liquid extract hyssop 0.35ml.

The other ingredients are: chloroform spirit (containing chloroform, ethanol and purified water), methyl parahydroxybenzoate (E218), tincture capsicum (containing capsicum oleoresin, ethanol and purified water), caramel (E150), glycerol (E422), viscarin SD389 (containing dextrose and carageenan (E407)), menthol, sodium saccharin (E954) and purified water.
