Docusol Constipation Relief 50mg/5ml Solution is a clear, almost colourless, syrupy oral liquid. It has a strawberry flavour.
It has been developed to prevent and treat chronic constipation. Prevention of hard, dry stools and reduction of straining at stools in the presence of conditions like haemorrhoids and anal fissures.
Adults and children aged over 12 years: Two 5ml spoonfuls three times a day. Take as a single dose followed by plenty of water or flavoured drink (e.g. milk or orange juice).
Do not take more than six 5ml spoonfuls (30ml) in 24 hours.
Reduce the dose as the condition improves.
Not suitable for use in children aged 12 years and under.

If laxatives are needed every day, or if there is persistent abdominal pain, consult your doctor.
Do not take if you have a known hypersensitivity to Docusate Sodium or any of the excipients listed.
Do not take in the presence of abdominal pain, intestinal obstruction, nausea or if vomiting occurs.
Each 5ml of oral solution contains 50mg of Docusate Sodium.
Also contains: Sorbitol, Methyl p-hydroxybenzoate, Propyl p-hydroxybenzoate, Aspartame and Sodium Benzoate.
