Description

Otrivine Blocked Nose Relief Nasal Spray delivers an exact dose of medicated spray inside the nose. It provides up to 10 hours of relief from the symptoms of nasal congestion due to colds, sinusitis and allergies, such as hay fever in as little as 2 minutes. It contains the active ingredient xylometazoline hydrochloride that helps to open up and clear nasal passages by reducing nasal mucus and returning swollen blood vessels to their normal size.

FAQ

What is Otrivine Blocked Nose Relief Spray used for?

Otrivine Blocked Nose Relief Spray is a nasal decongestant used to relieve nasal congestion caused by colds, sinusitis, allergies, and hay fever. It helps open up the nasal passages to make breathing easier.

How does Otrivine Nasal Spray work?

Otrivine contains xylometazoline hydrochloride, which works by constricting the blood vessels in the nose, reducing swelling and congestion. This allows air to flow more freely through the nasal passages.

How quickly does Otrivine start working?

Otrivine typically starts working within minutes, offering fast relief that can last for up to 10 hours. It provides long-lasting decongestion for easier breathing throughout the day or night.

How long can I use Otrivine for?

Do not use Otrivine for more than 7 consecutive days, as prolonged use can lead to rebound congestion (a worsening of symptoms after stopping the spray).

Is Otrivine suitable for children?

Otrivine Blocked Nose Relief Spray is suitable for adults and children aged 12 years and older. There are child-specific Otrivine products available for younger ages such as Otrivine Child Nasal Drops—ask your pharmacist for advice.

Can I use Otrivine with other cold or allergy medications?

Yes, but you should avoid using it with other nasal decongestants at the same time. If you're using antihistamines, cold and flu tablets, or nasal sprays together, consult your pharmacist to ensure it's safe.

What are the possible side effects of Otrivine Nasal Spray?

Common side effects may include:

  • Temporary nasal irritation
  • Dry nose or throat
  • Sneezing

Less common effects include headache, nausea, or palpitations. If you experience severe symptoms or allergic reactions, stop use and seek medical attention.

What are the possible side effects of Otrivine Nasal Spray?

If you are pregnant, or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.
